This easy, cheesy casserole is simple to make with a handful of ingredients.
Place oven rack in lower third of oven; heat oven to 350oF.
In a 10-inch skillet, cook ground beef and sea salt over medium heat 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add ¼ medium onion, chopped and cook 3 to 5 minutes longer or until onion has softened and beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat. Add 9 oz BBQ sauce and stir until well combined.
Spoon beef mixture into greased 2-quart baking dish. Stir in 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
Unroll 1 can of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls. Place sheet of dough over beef mixture to cover, tucking in sides of dough. Place baking dish on sheet pan or cookie sheet.
Bake on lower oven rack 30-35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before serving
My husband doesn't like chopped onion so I used the equivalent of onion powder instead.
1/2 chopped onion = 1/2 Tbsp onion powder.
I use Sharp cheddar for extra flavor and we love Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.
If you want to double the recipe, double everything except for cheese and crescent rolls.
