Easy No Bean Chili

There is nothing better than a bowl of chili on a cold winter day. It’s a great meal that warms you from the inside out.

My family is not a fan of beans so I have a great, easy no bean chili recipe. You can make this exactly as we do or you can use it as a base. Some may find it too spicy and some may find it not spicy enough. I would suggest that if you aren’t a huge fan of spice that you start with less hot sauce and/or tomato paste. Also, we don’t like really thick chili so you may want to add more tomato paste if you prefer thicker chili.

My family's favorite chili. Make the recipe exactly as it is or use it as a base to make your family's perfect chili.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Bob Evans Zesty Sausage
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 3 5.5 oz cans Tomato Juice (or 16.5 oz from a bottle)
  • 1 6 oz can Tomato Paste
  • 4 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 3 dashes Hot Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
  1. Brown ground beef and sausage. Drain

  2. While the meat is cooking, mix the remaining ingredients together in a crock pot on high.

  3. Add the cooked meat into the crock pot and stir.

  4. When the chili is hot, serve with sour cream and cheese.

Recipe Notes

You can adjust the hot sauce to make the chili more or less spicy. You can also adjust the amount of tomato paste for different thickness.

We also love to top with Frito corn chips for an added crunch.
