Easy Baked French Toast Casserole

I love this easy baked French Toast casserole recipe!! It is my go-to recipe for special weekend mornings. You can always find it at our house on holiday mornings like Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving as well as birthdays. I also make it sometimes when we have company for the weekend since it’s easy to make and is so delicious!

It is perfect because half of the recipe is done the night before and the rest is done in the morning. It’s simple to make which allows you more time to spend with family or friends.

Author: Julie Clark
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into medium slices (I use Texas toast)
  • 6 Eggs, large
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups Half & Half (Or you can use all milk)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Light Corn Syrup
  1. Grease 9 x 13 oven safe dish. Layer bread on bottom of the dish (2 layers).

  2. Mix eggs, spices, milk, half & half and vanilla and pour over bread in the dish.

  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  4. The next morning, preheat oven to 350oF.

  5. Mix topping and spread over the top of the bread. The bread will be soft so gently spread the topping mixture.

  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes as it will be hot. Serve while it is still warm.
